Miss Universe 2007

After a long time waiting for Ms. Universe 2007 “The Most Beautiful Day in the Universe”. Finally I can watch those 77 candidates all over the world! .... It started here 9:30 in ABS-CBN (Philippines) but before that, I watched the Homeboy Special Episode for Ms. Universe Pre Pageant with those former World Beauty Queen.

And you know what? I’m really proud to our own lovely delegate

Well she won as a Ms. Photogenic Ms. Universe 2007 ,I’m really proud for her bec. I thought she will never won that title, I’m so so happy!!!.. but when choosing the top 15 she couldn’t even make it to the top! And I’m really mad of it! Because I watched all the video in preliminary! She’s the best in Poise/Body Posture, in Swimsuit well she’s not that kind of ramp model but she’s so cool, cute and bubbly rather than all of the same catwalk skills of other delegates! In interview? Come’ oN!.. She’s the most intelligent and well mannered speaker!She speaks with clarity and fluently. Even Ms. USA can’t do that! No one but her!! In evening gown.. the color gold, well the design is not surprising, not even that beautiful but she really did a great job by how to carry it and her facial expression really rocks! Like a mysterious lady. And she’s the most elegant as ever! And most modest of all!!.. In pictorial in swimsuit I don’t like her to put black eye shadows in her eyes and why don’t try other hairstyle?..

THEY ALWAYS YELLING AND KEEP-BOOING FOR MS. USA, IM PITY FOR HER.. AND OFCOURSE I DON’T LIKE THOSE JUDGES AND WHO’S THE WINNER IN NATIONAL COSTUME? AND WHY THEY DON’T REVEALING THEY’RE SCORES IN PRELIMINARY??

ANNA THERESA L. LICAROS

Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2007 , she graduated in University of the Philippines as Summa Cum laude in Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Communication . In an early age she possessed a kind of Passion in life, and that is being achiever. She studied before in Assumption College in Elementary where she became a Salutatorian and High School where she graduated as Valedictorian .While in College she was a very active student, intelligent and humble. She’s a top in Deans List too. But after all achieving the successful career in college, Anna decided to become a Lawyer for Children’s Rights and Family Cases where she is a sophomore student and Top of the class again. Me as a Filipino youth I truly inspired by her. I wanted to be like her, but as a Summa Cum Laude? Hmmp ! Well lets see!... I read too that She had an I.Q. 175.. What a great!.. And she’s chosen as one of the 10 Outstanding Students in the Philippines. She’s a member of Paralegal Volunteer Organization and Portia Sorority.

Her father is Andy Licaros and her mother is Ma. Victoria Licaros she’s the older in 3 brothers. For them their sister is their inspiration too. Other facts about her? Oww she likes to eat accdg. to her friend , and with a sense of humor too and she has a boyfriend named “Mr. Lazatin”.

What are your interests and what do you enjoy doing the most?

Reading and Collecting Fairy Tales, Case Digest making, Writing, Playing Scrabble, Backgammon and Mahjong

Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?

My grandmother, Marcela Licaros. I grew up next door to my paternal grandparents and my grandmother was always there to show love and support for all my activities. She is a woman of great strength and is the epitome of perseverance and hardwork. her profession as a public school teacher also influenced me in my desire to enter into the academe in the future to be a teacher as well.

What is your proudest personal accomplishment (other than representing your country in this pageant)?

Being chosen as one of the 10 outstanding students of the Philippines last 2005.

What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?

I would like to become a successful lawyer someday, engaged in a trail- blazing practice focused on children's rights cases. I am currently enrolled as a sophomore in the University of the Philippines, College of Law and am part of the Paralegal Volunteers Organization.

Where is the most interesting place you have been?

The mystic mountain called mount Banahaw in Quezon Province, It has a lot of caves and hillside shrines. going to the Husgado cave was an experience! I left the place energized and feeling invincible.

What makes you unique and different from the other contestants?

My being a global Filipina. It is my capacity to integrate my culture and history with the beautiful and useful things the rest of the world has to offer. It is the resilience of my culture that is my strongest trait.

What is your philosophy of /in life?

Be the best by choice! achieving and being the best is always the result of a conscious decision, a commitment to excellence.

What do you hope to be doing in 10 years?

Practicing law in the grand manner, either as part of the national or local government or in government service and at the same time starting a family of my own.

Is there anything you would like to tell us about yourself? Something unique that has happened to you? Some interesting thing about you?

I really enjoy taking public transportation. I actually feel sexiest most attractive after riding the metro rail transit or taking the jeep. I attribute to the sense of empowerment I get because I can move around by myself and I am independent when I commute. also, nothing beats having naturally wind-blown hair and a natural flush on the face because of walking or taking the stairs. my sense of beauty is tough, independent, take charge natural and low maintenance.

My Experience of Being a Literacy Teacher


I’ve never known what was the feeling to teach

a children in the community.I thought it would be

difficult for me to teach them because of their young

age. Naughty , insistent, and hyper-active. But this

feelings make me realize the days when my

kindergarten teachers were trying hard to teach me

and guide me because of natural behavior that is innate

to children that once before like me . I said to myself I

need to teach a child because it’s included in my subject

“NSTP” and like what I thought, being a literacy teacher

are hard for us specially to discipline them.


On the very first day of our NSTP, its so difficult to find a children, because almost of

them have their teachers already. But when I came to a one street corner I found a little

house . I saw a woman and asked her if she have a children whose age is 5 years old and

up and I’m gradually felt so happy and excited because at last! I have a child to teach

now . Her name is “Bea”. She look glancing at me and then she change her clothes

immediately, she ask me what is my name , and I introduce myself to her. In the very first

day of being a literacy teacher I’m so proud that I will experience something new , and to

give Bea a kind of literacy education that she will need. Bea was very a playful child,

almost of the time she’s happy ,having to fun with and sometimes she’s obedient

why? There was an instance that she didn’t listen to me, she wouldn’t behave and keep

playing all around together with her friends when I say something about a reward then

she will stop and listen to me. I taught her how to discipline herself. When I taught her,

she listen very well, and she answers the activity that I please her to answer. She likes to

color instead of writing alphabets and numbers . Sometimes we were making fun and we

laugh together just wanted to feel them secured and enjoy their childhood days. I taught

her how to read but it’s too hard for her , and she even can’t read a simple words , that I

wish somehow when she will going to study she must know how to read.


And now I’m really enjoying this second semester, for having a thrill subject like these.

It’s fun to see how those children’s reciting and quarrel with the other kids. And of

course teaching them about literacy education and moral lessons. But as long as Bea and I

are touch along together , I almost felt that I’m her mother , exactly I know what was the

reason , because I’m her 2nd mother , her teacher.


On the last day of being a literacy teacher , I will missed these kind of experience , I will

miss Bea too , the time that she gave me a difficult acts and response. I didn’t gave her

anything a gift , but last Christmas Party I gave her a board and a coloring book, but this

time the only gift that I can give her is love and care .When it’s time to say goodbye I

said to her that she will take care of herself, and be obedient . I’m waving goodbye to her

as her mother takes her way thru their home.


Even the time or schedule was not pleasant to our mood, because it’s noon time and too

hot, it’s not a matter to us, instead we are responsible for them ,and it’s for their sake and

we are the one who will help them for the beginning of their brighter tomorrow.
